In Matters of Principle: jcpenney and Environmental Responsibility, we recognize that climate change is a global issue that can only be solved through the combined efforts of many, and we pledge our commitment to take steps to reduce nonrenewable energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in our operations and to support initiatives to identify and implement effective and enduring global solutions. In addition to the efforts we have made in our operations, we have been actively engaged in the ongoing dialogue concerning the need for broader national and international actions. We are continuing our engagement in that dialogue through the Retail Sustainability Initiative of the Retail Industry Leaders Association and in other forums.
