We are committed to reducing material usage and minimizing landfill disposal. Each year, our stores and logistics centers recycle approximately 93,500 tons of cardboard, 4,400 tons of plastic and 8,500 tons of plastic hangers, which translates to approximately 165 million hangers. Our stores are recycling about 75 percent of their waste and our logistics centers are recycling about 80 percent of their waste.

In fact, our Milwaukee Logistics Center has installed a compactor to recycle expanded polystyrene used in packaging by reducing the polystyrene at a ratio of 50:1 to create blocks that can be easily transported and recycled into construction material. It is planned to annually recycle about 14,000 pounds (60,000 cubic feet) of expanded polystyrene.
