Sourcing Fine Jewelry

jcpenney is committed to respecting the responsible sourcing of minerals so that we have greater confidence that the gold, other metals and gemstones in our products are not produced at the expense of communities, workers or the environment. Given the complexity of the gold and gemstone supply chain, we can only aspire to achieve these objectives through the cooperation of our business partners. In early 2009, jcpenney reached out to all of its fine jewelry suppliers and requested that they make a commitment to responsible sourcing of gold and metals. In addition, jcpenney has joined the Responsible Jewelry Council, which is committed to promoting responsible, ethical and transparent social and environmental practices though a worldwide diamond and gold jewelry supply chain initiative.
