Planning and Merchandising Trainee

The JCPenney Planning and Merchandising Trainee program is one of the leading training programs in the retail industry. Imagine learning from the Merchandising teams who are the driving success behind a multi-billion dollar business. As a JCPenney Planning and Merchandising Trainee, you will work from the Home Office in Plano, TX (just 20 min. north of downtown Dallas) and experience firsthand how buying, planning, allocation, and inventory management integrate to produce product in more than 1,000 JCPenney stores, online on jcp.com and in catalog.

The 17 week training program is fast-paced and high caliber. You will gain insight into store environment processes, visit a logistics center and merchandise research and testing lab, and more. You will engage with Merchandise team members and work side by side with other trainees every step along the way. A host of projects, activities and hands-on training will facilitate your learning. You will be a valued member of the team, with senior managers mentoring and coaching you to success.

Upon successful completion of the Planning and Merchandise Trainee program, you will be promoted to an Allocator or Direct Inventory Analyst position supporting an Enterprise Buying team. Along with a competitive salary and bonus potential, your relocation expenses will be covered.
