Product Development Trainee
JCPenney Product Development teams are the managers for the largest volume of private brands of any retail department store -- nearly 50 percent of our merchandise mix. As a Product Development Trainee in our Home Office in Plano, Texas (just 20 minutes north of downtown Dallas), you will be assigned to one of JCPenney's private brands and work side-by-side with Design and Buying teams as you experience firsthand the product development process.

During the six-month training program, you will be a valued member of a Product Development team, working on projects and presentations, strategic business planning and product line development, competitive shopping and more. You will engage and interact with Buyers, Designers, Sourcing, Trend, Marketing, overseas offices and suppliers, and other Product Development Trainees. With the mentoring and coaching of senior team members, you'll actively participate in the execution of product development plans -- beginning with interpreting trend direction, all the way to reviewing final merchandise assortments.
