Technical Design Co-op

JCPenney Technical Design teams manage the fit and construction for the largest volume of private brands (nearly 50 percent of our merchandise mix) of any retail department store. As a an Assistant Technical Designer in our Home Office co-op program, you will be assigned to one of JCPenney's private brands and work side by side with Design and Trend Managers as you experience firsthand the product and brand development process.

During this three-month program, you will be a valued member of the Technical Design team, engaging and interacting with Designers, Product Development, Trend and Brand teams. With the mentoring and coaching of senior team members, you will actively participate in the development of translating designs to understandable communication of garment fit – beginning with pattern making all the way to reviewing garments on live models or body forms.

Along with competitive pay, students participating in our co-op program are provided transportation to and from Dallas (airfare or mileage reimbursement), housing, and a rental car if needed.
