Textile Design Co-op

Our Textile Designers oversee our textile graphic process, ensuring that it is executed as planned in the manufacturing of initial and production samples. As a an Assistant Textile Designer in our co-op program, you will be assigned to one of JCPenney's  private brands and work side by side with Design and Trend Managers as you experience firsthand the product and brand development process. You will assist with creating original patterns and designs for print fabrics and/or manipulate purchased prints for textile products.

During this three-month program at our Home Office  in Plano, TX (just 20 min. north of downtown Dallas), you will be a valued member of the Textile Design team, working on projects, presentations, sketching, trend research, competitive shopping, and more. You will engage and interact with Buyers, Designers, Sourcing, Trend, and Brand Managers, overseas vendors and suppliers, as well as other Design Trainees. With the mentoring and coaching of senior team members, you will actively participate in the development of a merchandise line – beginning with established seasonal merchandise concepts all the way to reviewing final assortments for fit
and construction.

Along with competitive pay, students participating in our co-op program are provided transportation to and from Dallas/Ft. Worth area (airfare or mileage reimbursement), housing, and a rental car if needed. If you area a fashion design or business major, have a strong knowledge of current textile and graphic design software and hardware (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, CAD, U4ria, etc.) and superior leadership and communication skills, then apply for a Textile Design Co-op position today!
