Textile/Graphic Design Trainee
JCPenney Textile/Graphic teams translate and create textile/graphic designs for the largest volume of private brands of any retail department store -- nearly 50 percent of our merchandise mix. As a Textile/Graphic Design Trainee in our Home Office in Plano, Texas (just 20 minutes north of downtown Dallas), you will be assigned to one of JCPenney's private brands and work side-by-side with Textile/Graphic Design, Design, Trend and Product Development teams as you experience firsthand the private brand process. During the six-month program, you will work on all of the elements to ensure the interpretation of the design direction meets the desired concepts for trend-right textile/graphic design. You will engage and interact with Buyers, Designers, Sourcing, Trend, overseas offices and suppliers, as well as other Textile/Graphic Design Trainees. With the mentoring and coaching of senior team members, you'll actively participate in the development of seasonal graphic designs for final product.
We look for candidates with a strong ability to design fashionable and complex patterns and textile/graphic designs. Candidates should also have leadership and communication skills, knowledge of CAD, U4IA, Illustrator, Photoshop, a four-year degree in fashion design or business with a minimum 3.0 GPA, and a desire to move to the Dallas/Ft. Our Textile/Graphic Design Trainee program allows for you to specialize in one of our Apparel or Home areas.
