JCPenney conducted a voluntary quality recall on the Masquerade Mirror 20-pc Flatware set in June 2009 when it identified that the colored epoxy inlays on the flatware handle could pop out when subjected to the high temperatures of the dishwasher. JCPenney sent customers a letter requesting that they return their current set for a full refund and reorder information for a new set from JCPenney's corrected inventory.
On October 22, 2009, Cambridge Silversmiths in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a voluntary recall of the same Fiesta Masquerade Flatware due to the decorative inserts on the handles can detach during dishwashing, posing a choking hazard.
This CPSC recall affects only the Fiesta Masquerade Flatware purchased at JCPenney prior to June 2009. If the set was purchased between March and May 2009 ( lot #787-2023 ) immediately stop using the flatware and contact Cambridge Silversmiths at 1-800 890-3366 or www.cambridgesilversmiths.com or service@cambridgesilversmiths.com for a free replacement.
